BREAKING: Suspects in murder of officer Daniel Ellis plead guilty
MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two men charged in the connection with the murder of a Richmond police officer have agreed to a plea deal.
Officer Daniel Ellis, 33, was shot to death while investigating an armed robbery on November 4, 2015.
Raleigh Sizemore was charged with murder, unlawful imprisonment, robbery, wanton endangerment and other charges.
Gregory Ratliff was charged with murder of a police officer.
With the plea, both men will avoid the death penalty.
Sizemore will serve life in prison with no possibility of parole.
Ratliff will have to serve at least 30 years for his role.
