Lexington Fire investigating floor collapse; 2 people taken to hospital

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Crews are investigating after a floor collapsed inside a Lexington building.

When it happened, the fire department says it had about 50 firefighters on scene.

It happened off Westland Drive, at a multi-purpose warehouse. Firefighters say where it happened was a two floor space where bulk groceries are stored.

The concrete flooring inside that space collapsed, and the fire department says two people who were inside at the time, fell through the floor.

Firefighters say one got out easily, while the other required some digging to get out.  Both were taken to UK Hospital and are expected to be okay.

Before firefighters got there, they say some people from nearby businesses ran in to help.
