Boyle Sheriff: Traffic stop leads to large cash seizure

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Boyle County Sheriff says a traffic stop led to the arrest of two people and the seizure of cash and drugs.

A K-9 deputy pulled over a car because there were active warrants out against its registered owner, according to the sheriff.  During the stop the dog found cocaine, prescription pills and approximately $11,000 in cash in the car, according to investigators.

Brandon S. Lofton of Danville was arrested on his active warrants and was also charged with trafficking in cocaine, no insurance 2nd offense and having expired registration plates, according to investigators.

A passenger in the car, Helen R. Hurd of Danville was arrested and charged with trafficking controlled substance 3rd degree drug unspecified, and misrepresentation to receive benefits, according to the sheriff.  Both Lofton and Hurd were taken to the Boyle County Detention Center.
