Boyle community mourns death of former fire chief

BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Boyle County community is mourning the death of Brian “Scotty” Sexton. He’s the former deputy fire chief in Danville and chief in Burgin.

The Advocate-Messenger says 54-year-old Sexton died Sunday of natural causes.

Friends told the newspaper he had a heart of gold, and a personality as big as life.

The paper says at the age of 16, Sexton started tagging along with the Burgin Fire Department.

A visitation will be held Friday from 3:00pm – 7:00pm at Stith Funeral Home in Danville. There will also be a celebration of Sexton’s life Saturday from 2:00pm- 6:00pm at the Boyle County Fire Department in Danville.
