Bourbon lovers campout in Lexington for Pappy Van Winkle

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- There’s a line of bourbon fans camping out tonight outside Liquor Barn in Hamburg. A limited amount of the rare bourbon goes on sale tomorrow morning at Lexington Liquor Barn stores.

Pappy is always in demand worldwide. However, it has been an especially hot commodity since the 2013 bourbon heist in Franklin County. The case involved 65 cases of the 20-year-aged bourbon. It mysteriously disappeared, and is estimated to be worth $26,000. The case still hasn’t been solved.

As for the cost, Pappy’s 23-year-aged bourbon is going for more than $250, according to one Liquor Barn location.
