Bomb threat at Knox Co. school unfounded
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ)- A bomb threat at a Knox County elementary school is unfounded, according to Barbourville Police.
Officers say just before 6 p.m. Monday, patrolmen met with Andrew Gallagher at the Knox County Jail. Gallagher was reportedly saying his significant other had a bomb inside GR Hampton Elementary school that he planned to blow up to make Gallagher angry.
Barbourville Police and a Kentucky State Police bomb dog searched the school, but did not find any bombs.
Investigators spoke to the man Gallagher accused. He was in Ohio and told officers he has not been in Barbourville in more than two years. He also said he would not do anything to hurt anyone.
Police say 31-year-old Gallagher from Rockholds was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threatening 2nd degree, Falsely reporting an incident.
