Boil Water Advisory issued in Clark County

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) – A boil water advisory was issued at 9:38 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, for Kentucky American Water customers in Clark County.

KAWC says the precautionary advisory is related to a water main break that occurred within the Winchester Municipal Utilities water system.  WMU provides water to Kentucky American Water’s Clark County distribution system.

An estimated 280-customers are affected by the advisory.  During a boil water advisory, it’s recommended that customers boil any tap water for at least three minutes before using for cooking, drinking or making ice. 

After boiling the water, customers should allow the water to cool before consuming it.  Customers with questions should call Kentucky American Water’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-678-6301.  Unless notified otherwise, the boil water advisory will expire in 36-hours.
