Boil water advisory issued for large area in Danville

DANVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A boil water advisory has been issued for all addresses from 5096 Perryville Road to 9445 Perryville Road, according to Danville utilities.

This includes Salt River Road, Parksville Crosspike, Needmore Road, Quirks Run Road, Neild Road, Tuggle Road, Dry Fork Road, Greenview Lane, Meadowlark Lane, and Hays Lane.

Although no contamination has been confirmed, health officials recommend: Bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for three minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

People with severely compromised immune systems, infants, and some elderly may be at increased risk. These people should seek advice from their health care providers about drinking water.

An eight-inch AC and PVC water main lost pressure while contractors were working on the main.

The water main has been brought back up to pressure and put back into service.
