Body found in river identified as missing Breathitt Co. man

 JACKSON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A body that was discovered Monday evening in the North Fork of the Kentucky River just outside of Jackson has been identified as a missing Breathitt County man that Kentucky State Police were searching for.

The body of 49-year-old Granville Sewell, Jr., of Jackson, was located in the river by officers off of Highway 1812, just before 5:00 p.m.

Sewell was reported missing by family members last Friday. His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort where an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

The incident remains under investigation.
