UPDATE: Foul play not suspected after body discovered in Frankfort

UPDATE: (9/10/18, 12:58 p.m.) – The Franklin County Coroner’s Office says foul play has been ruled out after a man’s body was found in the Kentucky River in Frankfort last week.

The coroner says there is no evidence of trauma and that the man’s death appears to be accidental or from natural causes.

The man has been identified but the coroner says his identity is being withheld until the family is notified.

The Frankfort Police Department and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office continue to investigate.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police are investigating after a body was found in the Kentucky river near downtown Frankfort.

Investigators say the body was spotted Friday morning along the river bank by a tour boat.

On Friday afternoon, crews found the body and pulled it from the river.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office is on the scene.
