Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Happy Friday! More showers and storms in the forecast to close out your week. Winds will increase as well, gusting as high as 30-40 mph possible. The highest chance of rain today will be during the midday into the afternoon hours. Wind gusts will peak at that time as well. Showers will become more isolated into the late afternoon and the early evening. Expect cooler conditions today as afternoon highs will struggle to reach the upper 50s for most.

After a few early evening rain showers, skies will gradually clear out overnight. Temperatures will fall into the low 40s for most areas overnight, leading to a chilly start to Saturday. But some good news finally! We will be DRY for your Saturday. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 60s for most under sunny skies.

The weekend will end with even warmer temperatures on Sunday. Highs will peak in the mid-70s to end the weekend. There will be an isolated chance of a late day shower or storm during the afternoon and evening on Sunday but most of the day will be dry. Temperatures will continue to climb into next week as well. Temperatures on Monday and Tuesday should easily reach the upper 70s for most areas, with 80 degrees possible on Tuesday. Both days will be mainly dry, but isolated showers or storms will be possible either day.

We will be tracking another strong system sweeping across the country next week. This system will increase rain and storm chances by the middle-to-late portions of next week. This system will likely drop temperatures once again by the end of next week into the following weekend.
