Bluegrass chapter of Red Cross sends more help ahead of Hurricane Matthew

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Bluegrass chapter of the American Red Cross is sending more help to areas in the path of Hurricane Matthew.

The volunteers were deployed Friday morning.

Some of the volunteers told ABC 36 news this will be their first experience with a storm of this magnitude, but want to help in any way they can.

The Red Cross has already sent volunteers to set up shelters for those who have evacuated in Florida.

Volunteers from Kentucky are being deployed to different shelters throughout the south eastern part of the United States.

Their deployment will last for two weeks.
