Blue Grass Federal, Rotary partner for Nicholas flood relief, others can help
PARIS and CARLISLE, Ky. (WTVQ/Press Release) – Two well-known community names have teamed up to aid flood-relief efforts in Carlisle and Nicholas County as dozens of residents, businesses and property owners try to recover from deadly, historic flooding on July 30.
And they are challenging others to join their partnership to turn a few dollars into more.
The Paris Rotary Club in Bourbon County is trying to do as much as it can to help its neighbors to the north. It supplied some donated cleaning supplies, diapers, OTC medicines, fans and other sundries, but it needs to do more, the club said.
Blue Grass Federal stepped forward and offered to match every contribution made to support the effort up to $10,000. The financial institution also challenged other institutions to do the same and provide the much-needed funds to help Carlisle begin rebuilding.
A special account has been set up at the Blue Grass Federal under Paris Rotary Club, 600 High St., Paris, Kentucky 40361 to accept contributions that will be matched up to $10,000.
Individuals and companies interested in making a donation or joining the challenge can contact Shanda Smith at Blue Grass Federal, at 859-987-2951.
All proceeds will be forwarded to the Carlisle-Nicholas Chamber of Commerce County Flood Relief Fund and are tax deductible.
