Blue Grass Airport receives more than $1M from U.S. Department of Transportation
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVQ) – More than one million dollars is coming to the Blue Grass Airport.
The U.S. Department of Transportation announced Thursday the Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $1.7 million in supplemental funding to Blue Grass Airport for airport infrastructure grants.
The U.S. Department of Transportation says the funding is in addition to the $57.9 million already awarded to Kentucky in Airport Improvement Program funding through this current fiscal year.
The grant will provide funding for the final phase of a new Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting building at the airport.
The grant is one of 37 grants to airports in 34 states.
