Blood drive to help buoy lagging donations
“While we lost 1,200 donations, we were still able to provide blood for the transfusions performed last week. That’s because we had blood on the shelves and help from some other community blood centers,” said Martha Osborne, KBC’s Executive Director of Marketing and Recruitment. “We also saw an outpouring of generosity last Friday when several hundred donors came to our centers to roll up their sleeves.
Now, Cambridge Place Nursing Home and Rehab Facility is teaming up with KBC to host a blood drive to help shore up their supply. The drive will be at 2020 Cambridge Drive on March 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bloodmobile will be parked in the front parking lot of Cambridge Place. Participants will receive a free KBC t-sirt for their donation. For more information, contact Kara Ball at (859) 779-1632.
