Bitter cold & snow continues through Monday night
Meteorologist Dillon Gaudet has the latest in your full ABC 36 Storm Team forecast
You can expect cold and snowy conditions to continue through the remainder of your Monday into early Tuesday. Lexington, along with areas along and north of I-64, won’t see much additional snowfall. However, southern Kentucky remains under a Winter Storm Warning and could see an additional 2-4 inches of snow, with higher amounts possible along the ridgetops in southeastern Kentucky. Heaviest snow can be expected between the afternoon and early evening hours, before tapering off during the overnight hours.
Wind chill values will be plummeting overnight as the snow exits. Single digit wind chills will be likely for most areas by Tuesday morning. Actual air temps won’t be much better either, as cold as the single digits for a lot of areas. Bundle up as you head out the door to return to work on Tuesday! Bitter cold temperatures continue on Wednesday. Wind chill values could drop as low as 10-20 degrees below zero early Wednesday morning.
Our temperatures improve slightly Wednesday into Thursday but that’s brief because another snow chance and more arctic air returns late Thursday into Friday. More snow accumulation is possible, followed by a return to overnight lows in the single digits for the weekend. Stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for more updates.
