Big Brothers Big Sisters 30 In 30 Challenge

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass needs your help in their 30 in 30 challenge.

The organization said they are trying to raise $30,000 during the month of July.

On the 29th, $18,500 had been raised.  By the end of the month, 16 children on the waiting list will have been paired with mentors with that money.

One of those children was Hamdallah Moussa who was paired with his big brother Travis after waiting for a year.

Representatives from Big Brothers Big Sisters said there are 207 children on the waiting list.

The group estimated it costs around $1,000 to monitor each match to make sure it is successful and safe.

On the 30th, if you go to Orange Leaf at 152 West Tiverton Way, 25 percent of your purchase will go to help the cause.

Big Brothers Big Sisters representatives said they will continue to match children on the waiting list with mentors after this month.
