Berea Police Make Two Major Drug Busts in One Month
In the first drug bust, police said they confiscated 79 grams of heroin when they executed a search warrant at Brockton Apartments on the Eastern Kentucky University Campus.
Police arrested Catherine Leake, 27, and Neal Stone, 38, at the apartment. They were both charged with trafficking a controlled substance and other drug-related charges.
Then, Berea Police said they discovered 404 methadone pills in a second drug bust.
According to officials, they pills were found during a search of a home on the 2000 block of Dreyfus Road on Friday
Once officers got inside the residence, they reportedly found the methadone pills, along with an ounce of meth, synthetic marijuana and over $13,000 in cash.
Police arrested Harold Fowler, 53, Gwendolyn Fowler, 24, and Richard Haight, 27, on the scene.
According to investigators, Howard Fowler was charged with multiple counts of trafficking a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia possession.
Gwendolyn Fowler was charged with possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia possession.
We’re told Haight does not live in the house, but happened to be there when police arrived. They said they found multiple Hydrocodone tablets in his pocket and charged him with possession of a controlled substance.
Officers said these two drug busts are helping to cut down on the drug problem in Central Kentucky, but that they still need the public’s help to be vigilant for suspicious activity.
