Berea plans for temporary outage next week for substation project

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ)- The City of Berea says it’s preparing for a temporary outage that will happen as the city switches transformers. Municipal utilities says it’s part of the work for the city’s new substation.

The outage will affect some traffic signals. Municipal utilities put out a notice that says, “This outage will begin at 8:00am and will affect the traffic lights at Prospect St & Chestnut St, Center St & Main St, Chestnut St & Ellipse St as well as the light at Ellipse St & Jefferson St. The lights will be off about an hour with the exception of the light at Ellipse St & Jefferson St which will be off about 2 hours. The Police Department will have Police Officers directing traffic at these intersections during this time.”
