Berea man arrested in connection to string of thefts

BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ)- Berea Police have arrested a man after they were called to Boone Tavern regarding items stolen from a parked car on April 21st.

Police say several items were taken, totaling over $2,000.

On April 23rd, police were called to a home on White Hall Drive where the complainant said someone had gotten into his car overnight. Police say nothing was taken, but there was video of the person, and he happened to live a street over from White Hall Drive.

Police say they went to 28-year-old Joseph Chestnut’s house, where they found several stolen items, including items taken from the theft at Boone Tavern, and a previous theft on  Marcellus Drive.

Chestnut was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking.
