Berea Community Schools close due to illness
BEREA, Ky. (WTVQ) – Sickness has forced Berea Community Schools to close Wednesday.
The district says several students, faculty and staff members have either become sick, with strep throat or the stomach virus.
According to the district, the average school attendance is 95%, but on Monday, it was down to 84%.
As a result, the schools closed Tuesday and will be closed again Wednesday.
District officials say the schools are being deep cleaned before students return on Thursday.
