Bengals acquire All-Pro DT Dexter Lawrence from Giants
CINCINNATI, Ohio (ABC 36 News Now) — The Cincinnati Bengals made a blockbuster trade Saturday night, acquiring two-time All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.
Lawrence, a 2019 first-round pick out of Clemson, spent his first seven seasons with the New York Giants. During that time, he earned three Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro honors.
After a career year in sacks and tackles for loss in 2024, Lawrence saw a significant drop in those numbers in 2025. He recorded 9.0 sacks in 2024 compared to just 0.5 in 2025, and his tackles for loss decreased from eight to four over that span.
On Sunday, following the trade, the Bengals announced they had signed Lawrence to a one-year, $28 million extension that keeps him under contract through the 2028 season.
