Ben Chandler Has A New Job, Taking Break From Politics
The Kentucky Humanities Council names Ben Chandler its new Executive Director.
Chandler says he’s excited to take a break from public office, but it doesn’t sound like a permanent break.
Chandler says he sought out the job with the Kentucky Humanities Council. He joked he may hold the record for being the target of the most attack ads in state history.
Chandler spent the last 21 years holding public office, and he says it has worn him out.
He ran for Governor in 2003. We asked how interested he is in running again.
"I’m going to do this. I’m going to do it well, and if you ask me how interested I am in doing that today the answer is not at all. I’m not interested in that at all today," said Chandler.
What about tomorrow? Chandler says he won’t rule anything out in the future.
For the time being, Chandler says it will be nice not to have people constantly mad at him.
