Below average temps again today

Central Kentucky woke up to temps in the upper 40s and low 50s, which is well below the average of 65 degrees.  Jackson, KY, got down to 53 this morning, beating the record set in 2001 of 55 degrees. With afternoon highs only expected in the mid to upper 70s, we will keep temperatures below average this afternoon.  Overnight, temps will fall back into the upper 40s and low 50s, making Thursday morning another cool one.

We won’t get to keep these fall-like temps too long; by Sunday, temperatures are back in the low 90s. The heat will be a mainly dry heat though, as dewpoints stay low enough to keep humidity levels only in the “noticeable” range.

We’re tracking a slight chance for returning rain by Tuesday,

when a cold front is expected to push toward Kentucky.
