Below average and dry for Thursday with more changes ahead

Feeling fantastic today

Temperatures will be slow to warm today due to cloud cover dominating through the morning hours. We’ll see the clouds breaking up in the late morning/early afternoon, allowing us to warm to the mid-80s, a few degrees below average. A light northern breeze will keep dewpoints a few degrees cooler than they have been in the past few days, giving us a break from the humidity and the heat index. Tonight we’ll see temperatures cooling to the low 60s.

Back to average to end the week

We’ll return to the upper 80s for Friday and Saturday. We look to stay dry on Friday with partly cloudy skies, but Saturday has the potential for isolated showers and t-storms. This is due to our second cool front of the week moving through. Most areas will stay dry, especially those north of I-64, but others may experience a brief period of rainfall and lightning.

A cool down ahead

Sunday will see a dip below average into the mid-80s. The start of our next work week looks to be even cooler. Temperature forecasts have been consistently trending in the upper 70s for afternoon high temperatures for the first half of next week, with overnight lows in the 50s. Humidity also appears to take a dramatic dip, leaving us dry, sunny, and seasonably cool.
