Bell County man accused of threatening to kill judge, 911 dispatchers

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man has been arrested after authorities say he made threats against a Bell County judge and 911 dispatchers.

According to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Charles Lawson called and harassed dispatch several times Monday. He called so many times, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The sheriff says, before deputies arrived at Lawson’s home, he had threatened to kill dispatchers, Bell County District Judge Robert Yoakum and several others.

When deputies tried to arrest Lawson, they say he wouldn’t listen to verbal commands and they were forced to use a taser on him.

Lawson is charged with harassing communications and terroristic threatening.

More charges are expected, according to the sheriff.
