Barns Destroyed In Suspicious Fires
Two barns were destroyed by fire early Tuesday morning and firefighters said they think an arsonist might be to blame.
Officials said the fires could be part of a string of suspected arsons that happened in Nicholas County on Friday.
The most recent fires happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday on Republican Pike in Harrison County and Crooked Creek in Nicholas County. Both are along Highway 392 near the county line.
Firefighters said both barns were destroyed and so was everything they were holding.
The barn in Harrison County had hay inside and firefighters said they have to let it burn itself out. The process could take as many as three days.
The barn in Nicholas County contained tobacco sticks and old machinery.
Now the question remains whether these fires could be connected to the barns that were burned in Nicholas County Friday night.
Tuesday morning’s fires are still under investigation but firefighters said they believe the same person could be responsible.
