Baptist Health Lexington plans to offer surgeries in Hamburg

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Lexington hospital has added a surgery center to its patient services in the Hamburg neighborhood.

Baptist Health Lexington announced Friday it has acquired the Kentucky Surgery Center at 240 Fountain Court.

Baptist says the center will become the Baptist Health Surgery Center. It will feature seven operating rooms, 2 procedure rooms, about 65 employees, and 100 credentialed surgeons.

Hospital administration says the center will handle approximately 7,000 procedures or surgeries there this year.

Those services will include a variety of outpatient surgical procedures including hip, knee and shoulder replacements; pediatric urology; colonoscopies and more.

In November, Baptist announced plans to open a medical campus on 129 acres in the Hamburg neighborhood off Polo Club Boulevard near I-75. The hospital says its Fountain Court surgery center will eventually become a part of that campus.

Baptist Health expects the first phase of construction on that campus to start in the fall. An emergency department and medical office buildings are planned for that first phase of construction.
