Bank robbery arrest in Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police have arrested a man they say was involved in a bank robbery in Richmond Thursday morning.

Officers say they received a call from Chase Bank on W. Main Street, reporting that at 10:01 a.m. a man entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded money.  Employees told investigators the man never pulled out a gun, but implied he had one.  According to tellers, the man took an undisclosed amount of money, put it in a backpack and ran off.

Richmond police say only minutes later they detained 37-year old Eric T. Noe only two blocks away from the scene of the robbery.  When they checked his apartment, officers say they found a backpack like the one used in the robbery.  Noe was held while a search warrant was executed.  Police say when they conducted the search, they found the stolen cash in the backpack.

Noe was charged with robbery and taken to the Madison Co. Detention Center.
