Ballet Under the Stars returns to Woodland Park

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Lexington Parks and Recreation’s ‘Ballet Under the Stars’ will be back starting on Wednesday.

The event will be held at Woodland Park from Wednesday, July 31st to Saturday, August 4th.

Shows will be held from six to nine p.m.

This year’s theme is Taylor swift.

Nalee Hagen and Laila Wells have participated in the program for the last five years.

Wells spoke about the joys of the event.

“It’s really nice to be able to do a show all ages with dancers from all different studios than the ones we go to,” said Wells. “It means a lot, because we get to build and meet other dancers that we don’t usually get to dance with. And then by the end of the summer we have this wonderful show.”

Hagen spoke about why people should come out.

“I think it’s really fun event,” said Hagen. “There’s a lot of things you can do and it’s really fun to watch. So I think everyone should come out because it’s really for everyone, all ages and it’s super fun.”

After the preshow the Kentucky Ballet Theater will perform.

There will also be children shows, storybook tea parties, food trucks and more for the community to enjoy.
