House badly damaged by fire in Anderson County
ANDERSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A home was badly damaged by fire in Anderson County Wednesday afternoon and the nearest fire hydrant was miles away.
Investigators say the fire broke out around 5:45 p.m. at a single-story home on Glensboro Road.
As is often the case in the rural areas of the county, there wasn’t a fire hydrant nearby. Firefighters say the nearest hydrant was nearly four and a half miles away, which resulted in the additional, time-consuming challenge of getting water to the scene.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
