Attempted robbery arrest in Madison Co.

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Richmond police have charged a man in an attempted robbery case in Richmond.

Officers say they received a report from an employee at the University Shell on the Eastern Bypass about a man acting suspiciously behind the gas station.  Officers say the employee told them that the man was wearing a hoodie and appeared to be carrying something in his hand.

When officers got there, they say the man had walked away from the station, but then was founded shortly thereafter on Lancaster Avenue.  Officers say 18-year-old Latravious D. Hines was carrying a BB gun with him, and was wearing a ski mask despite the warm weather.

Police took Hines to the station for an interview, and then charged him with attempted robbery.  He was taken to the Madison Co. Detention Center.
