Atlas Air moving from one Kentucky city to another

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Atlas Air Worldwide has announced it is moving its operations center from Florence to Erlanger.

The air cargo company is moving to be closer to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, according to the company.

According to the state, the move will include a $34.1 million investment by Atlas Air and is expected to create 593 additional full-time jobs.

The air cargo company currently operates in nearby Florence, where it employs 318 people, including 182 Kentuckians. Those employees will relocate to the new site in Erlanger.

The operations center is expected to open in 2021.
