Assistant police chief arrested

PROVIDENCE, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police arrested the assistant police chief in Providence for failing to report criminal activity or taking enforcement action.

Investigators say 51-year old Larry “Alan” King, of Madisonville, was involved in a sexual relationship with a Webster County Middle School teacher.  They say the teacher confided in King that she has deviant sexual fantasies about young teenage boys and is also a regular user of narcotics.

State Police say King didn’t act on the knowledge of the potential deviant sexual behavior with students and did not report or further investigate any of the illegal drug use to the Webster County School Board or others in position of authority, including his police department chain of command.

King was arrested and lodged in the Webster County Jail on the charge of one count Official Misconduct 1st Degree, according to State Police.

The case remains under investigation by KSP.
