Ashland will buy new police cars

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ)- According to the Daily Independent, Ashland will soon be buying 19 new police cars for $644,005.

The Board of commissioners gave final approval for the purchase at its meeting Thursday.

The city will buy the cars from Paul Miller Ford.

Also during the board meeting, the Ashland Fire Department said it will apply for a 2019 State Homeland Security Grant to buy equipment.

King’s Daughter Medical Center donated two automatic external defibrillators, according to the paper.

The Ashland Police Department will use the units, which are valued at $3,400.
