Ashland man arrested for child sex abuse material

Ashland, Ky. (WTVQ) — On Friday, Kentucky state police arrested a man for child sex abuse material.

According to KSP, an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation led to 46-year-old Carl Hayes being interviewed after receiving an investigative referral.

The referral indicated the suspect had received sexually explicit images if minors on social media.

After a search warrant of the residence, Hayes was arrested.

Hayes is currently charged with one count of possessing matter portraying a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance and one count of possessing matter portraying a minor over the age of 12 in a sexual performance.

He is currently being held at the Boyd County Detention Center.
