Asbury University prepares to inaugurate 18th president

WILMORE, Ky. (WTVQ)- Asbury University plans to inaugurate its 18th president, Kevin J. Brown, March 6th.

The installation service starts at 9 a.m. in Hughes Auditorium and will be followed by an inaugural reception. Click here for a full schedule of events.

Brown has served as a professor and associate dean in Asbury’s Dayton School of Business since 2013.

Before that, he received a Facutly of the Year award for his work as an assistant professor of Finance and Economics at Anderson University. (Brown’s full bio)

“In addition to achieving academic excellence in a Christian Liberal Arts University, and while adhering to and celebrating our Wesleyan-Holiness heritage, we will continue to rely upon God’s faithful presence amidst today’s dynamic marketplace,” Brown said, after the Asbury Board of Trustees selected him as president.

Brown succeeds Dr. Sandra C. Gray, who retired last summer.

“He has long been an important voice on our campus. He articulates the Asbury University mission, vision and Wesleyan-Holiness commitment with great conviction and passion,” Gray said.
