Arson investigators still searching for clues in GE plant fire

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Still no word on what caused a massive fire at the General Electric plant in Louisville.

Arson investigators say they are looking into why sprinklers in the building and fire hydrants near it did not work like they should. Meanwhile, the company says it’s found a facility to store parts and is expediting shipments to replace what was lost in the fire.

It also says air monitoring has found levels of contaminants below what would be considered harmful.  It is still uncertain what will happen to the nearly 4,000 GE hourly workers who are off the job following the fire.
