Corbin man arrested after mobile home fire in Laurel Co.

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) -A Corbin man is behind bars after officials say he admitted to lighting a trailer on fire.

Deputies say 22-year-old Daniel Boggs of Corbin was arrested early Tuesday morning on Locust Grove Road, about 7 miles west of London.

According to authorities, it all began when they received a call about a man setting a trailer on fire, but when deputies got there, Boggs had disappeared.  An investigation by deputies revealed that Boggs had gotten into a fight with his girlfriend.  Deputies say she had red marks on her neck where he had reportedly hit and choked her.  They also say witnesses told them that Boggs had threatened to burn her trailer down.  Investigators say the home had a burnt circle on the floor, and that there was a strong odor of Coleman fuel around the trailer.

Deputies eventually found Boggs walking on the side of Locust Grove Road.  They say Boggs told them that he had been hiding in the woods, and that he was the person responsible for the fire. According to investigators, Boggs told them he had been drinking and lit the fire because he was mad.  He was arrested and charged with arson, domestic violence, and public intoxication.

Boggs was taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
