Arrest in Calloway Co. quadruple homicide

Mayfield, KY (WTVQ) –Kentucky State Police have made an arrest in connection to a quadruple homicide in Calloway Co.

On November 17, two adults and two children were found dead following a house fire.  State Police later discovered that the two adults had been shot prior to the house fire. Smoke inhalation caused the death of the couple’s two children, who were around five and one years old, according to preliminary autopsy results. Troopers say multiple interviews and several search warrants led them to a relative to the family, 21-year-old Pascasio Y. Pacheco Arellano of Mayfield.

Investigators say when they went to interview Arellano four days after the fire, he had injuries suffered during the crime.  Investigators say they took him to the hospital for treatment.  He was released Monday and taken to Calloway Co. Jail.  Arellano has been charged with four counts of murder, burglary, arson, and tampering with physical evidence.
