Arrest in August shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – An arrest is made following a shooting in Lexington that happened back in August.

On August 19th, police showed up at the Eastland Food Mart to reports of shots fired.

When they got there, they found a man suffering a severe leg injury after being hit with a car.

At the time, police did not know if the person who hit him also ran over the man’s leg.

Court documents say Gene Odunsi. began firing shots at the victim in the parking lot and the person driving the victim hit him while trying to get to safety.

Documents say the victim told police he and Odunsi got into an argument a few days earlier and when Odunsi saw him again at the Eastland Food Mart, he pulled out a gun and started firing at him

Odunsi is charged with wanton endangerment.
