Another soggy day today but drier weather is on the way
More rain for central and eastern Kentucky today as a stationary boundary slowly moves to the south and east. A flood watch is still in effect for Fayette and surrounding counties through western Kentucky with flash flood warnings for areas along the Kentucky River. Casey County reporting over 9 inches of rain in the past 5 days and Mercer County with around 8 and a half inches of rain.
A much needed break from the rain will come Monday, although it comes with cooler temperatures. Highs peak in the 40s and 50s to start the work week with overnight lows sinking to the 20s and Freeze Warnings likely in effect Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. The dry spell will be short lived, as rain and storm chances move back in to the forecast Thursday and Friday.
