Another Republican joins Kentucky’s governor’s race

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin will face another Republican challenger in the upcoming primary.

William E. Woods, of Corinth, has announced he is running for governor.

He joins another candidate, Robert Goforth, in challenging Bevin for his seat.

Bevin has not officially filed for re-election, but says he will before the deadline.

Woods describes himself as a conservative Republican and says he supports marijuana legalization, casino revenue and wants to get rid of legislative pensions.
