Anderson County awarded $689,826 in funds for pavement improvements
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- The Department of Rural and Municipal Aid announced $689,826 in discretionary funds for vital resurfacing work on four roads in Anderson County. Resurfacing repairs address existing surface cracks, potholes, raveling, and base failures.
Projects submitted to the Department of Rural and Municipal Aid for discretionary fund consideration were evaluated by the KYTC district staff to assess the condition of roads and determine the most critical needs based on factors such as safety, economic impact, and traffic volumes.
The funding allows for nearly 14 miles of pavement resurfacing work to be completed on four county roads that are experiencing increased traffic volume and serve as school bus routes.
The Anderson County Fiscal Court is responsible for administering the work, and KYTC will reimburse the county for the projects.
Resurfacing work will address:
- Crooked Creek Road (County Road 1303) from milepoint 0 to milepoint 4.914
- Browns Store Road (County Road 1300) from milepoint 0 to milepoint 1.57
- Harry Wise Road (County Road 1119) from milepoint 0 to milepoint 3.764
