Anderson Co. High School band director accused of rape, sodomy appears in court
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) — Anderson County High School’s band director Patrick Brady, who’s accused of rape and sodomy among other charges, was back in court Tuesday morning for a pretrial conference.
Multiple motions were made by Brady’s attorney, including lifting a no-contact order with his sons, for some charges to be dropped for “lack of specificity,” for a change of venue, to exclude a search warrant and to not subpoena a victim.
The judge denied the request for some charges to be dropped for lack of specificity and to not subpoena a victim.
As for the other charges, the judge ruled as follows:
- Judge will review modifying no contact with juveniles, including his sons, as part of bond. Brady is asking that he could have contact with his juvenile sons and nephew for Christmas
- Judge will review the change of venue motion. Brady is asking for a change of venue for his trial as the defense believes it would “be hard to seat a jury”
- Judge will review the request from Brady that a warrant executed on May 15 was unlawful
A trial date won’t be set until a hearing is completed on all the above requests.
Brady is charged with four counts of unlawful transaction with a minor, promoting a sexual performance by a minor, rape, two counts of sodomy, sexual abuse, unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual activities and tampering with physical evidence.
In early August, he was listed as the band teacher on the school’s staff directory.
As of today, he’s no longer on the directory.
