An average fall-like Tuesday with cooler temps ahead
Morning cold front bringing clouds
We’re quiet and mild this morning as a cold front brings through some cloud cover. This has kept temperatures mild in the 50s. A few may see some sprinkles before lunchtime, but this will be very isolated, and most will stay dry. The cold front will have fully passed by this afternoon, taking most of the cloud cover with it. This leaves us sunny and average this afternoon with temperatures in the upper 60s. Winds will be gusty out of the west up to 25-30 mph.
Cooler temperatures overnight
Wednesday morning is expected to be clear, which is great news for those looking to catch the peak of the Orionid meteor shower. As long as you’re away from light pollution, you may be able to see 20-30 meteors per hour tonight. But the clear skies paired with calmer overnight winds will mean that the ground can cool more efficiently, and we will see temperatures dive into the lower 40s and upper 30s. You’ll want to bundle up if you head out to stargaze.
Chilly days ahead
Wednesday will likely be the coolest day of this forecast period, with temperatures struggling to make it out of the 50s. Thursday morning, many will see the low to mid-30s. This will likely lead to our first widespread frost event of the season. We will also see this possibility on Friday morning. After this, overnight lows will return to the 40s. If you have any outdoor plants, consider moving them inside or covering them with a sheet for the next few nights. The rest of this forecast will continue to see chilly mornings and cool afternoons.
