Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos visits Kentucky for groundbreaking
FLORENCE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Amazon founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, was at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport Tuesday for the groundbreaking for Amazon’s new Prime Air shipping hub.
Amazon will lease more than 900 acres of land from the airport for 50 years and construct more than 3 million square feet of building at the site, while it will house a fleet of 100 cargo planes.
Amazon expects the $1.5 billion project to create more than 2,000 jobs at its new facility.
The new air hub is slated to open in 2021.
