Alleged Kidnapping Ends in Fatal Shooting on I-75 in Ohio

WCPO has reported that a mother has been killed after her alleged kidnapper shot her on I-75 in Warren County, Ohio Friday afternoon.

The station tells us Terry Froman, 41, had shot and killed 34-year-old Kim Thomas’ teenage son in Mayfield, Kentucky earlier in the day.

Froman then reportedly kidnapped Thomas, who we’re told was his former girlfriend, and then led police on a massive search.

WCPO said that search ended shortly before 1:30 near mile marker 31 on I-75 when Froman’s vehicle was pulled over by State Police.

Officers told the station they heard gunfire inside the SUV. Froman then allegedly shot himself before they got to his door.

Investigators said they arrived at the vehicle and found Thomas’ body inside. Froman was taken to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

We’re told I-75 was shut down in both directions for around an hour after the shooting, causing an enormous traffic jam. Although southbound lanes have reopened, officials aren’t sure when traffic will be moving again for those headed north.

The Graves County Sheriff told WCPO that murder and kidnapping charges have been filed against Froman.
