Drugs or alcohol possibly a factor in pedestrian fatality: Police
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A pedestrian was killed early Thursday morning when struck by a car in Georgetown.
According to Georgetown Police, at 1:28 a.m., officers responded to McClelland Circle near Lemons Mill Road for a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Officers determined the pedestrian was dead at the scene.
Scott County Coroner John Goble identified the victim as 21-year-old Dustin Gann, of Cynthiana. According to police and the coroner, drugs or alcohol are suspected as playing a role in the incident. Toxicology test results are pending.
Police said it appears a 2013 Chevy Sonic driven by 28-year-old Amanda Holmquist, of Georgetown, was westbound on McClelland Circle approaching Lemons Mill Road when it hit the pedestrian who was in the roadway between intersections.
