Afternoon Storms Helping Temps Cool Down

Scattered storms popping up across central Kentucky this afternoon have really helped bring some relief from the heat.  Temperatures in Lexington fell nearly 10 degrees in just under two hours this afternoon as the rain pushed through the area. Some cities, like Mt. Sterling, are nearly 15 degrees cooler than yesterday at this time due to the rain.

Storm chances continue through the night and throughout the day Wednesday as a weak cold front sweeps across the state.  In the wake of the front, temperatures and humidity levels will be pleasant with highs in the low to mid 80’s on Thursday and Friday.

Opportunity for more rain returns this weekend and sticks around for the start of our week next week.  We get a break from the 90’s for a bit, as temperatures are expected to stay in the 80’s for the next 7 days.
